Thorncrown Chapel, one of the world’s most beautiful chapels and highly popular wedding destination, is located just 5 miles from the Sky Ridge Pavilion. Anxious couples come from all over the world to be married at this beautiful glass cathedral surrounded by unique rock formations and a canopy of trees.
The chapel was designed by world-renowned architect E. Fay Jones, who studied at the University of Arkansas and under his mentor, Frank Lloyd Wright at the Taliesin Fellowship. Jones chapel design has earned many presigous awards, including the American Institute of Architects National Honor Award and the AIA Gold Medal. Thorncrown is listed fourth on the AIA’s top ten buildings of the 20th century.
Thorncrown Chapel seats up to 100 guests and provides a minister. Facilities include a changing area, sound system and piano.
Unfortunately, Thorncrown Chapel is not open year round nor do they offer reception facilities. Due to high demand, wedding dates are limited, be sure to book early to get the date you want. A popular choice of many Sky Ridge Pavilion clients is to have their wedding service at Thorncrown (if available) and hold rehearsal dinners and receptions at the Sky Ridge Pavilion.
